R&D Mechanical Technician IV

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience and may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience.

Nice to Have:

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a technical program or other technical training/certification.
• Experience in Cardiac Surgery R&D environment.
• 10+ years Previous medical device experience.
• Background and applied / specific experience within Research and Product Development working with matrixed teams in support of and alongside senior and principal engineers
• Ability to use statistical techniques to analyze data.
• Demonstrated technical writing skills.
• Ability to manage day to day operations of the laboratory.
• Ability to train and mentor junior technicians.
• Prefer candidates to have an understanding of clinical / technical applications of surgical products and human anatomy.
• Experience in modeling, prototyping, crafting, building, machining, fabrication by hand or other skills that support good design and experimenting is highly desired. Shows a desire and ability in the general skill set of building or making things.
• Experience with GMP and GDP requirements.
• Knowledge of the English and Metric measuring systems with the ability to perform mathematical conversions to each.
• Technical Writing Skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge on Microsoft Office Suite and Minitab.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Problem solving skills.
• Change management and technical documentation experience.
• Self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision
