A Day in the Life

Medtronic’s Diabetes campus in Northridge, CA is looking for a Manufacturing Supervisor - Night Shift . In this exciting role you will be working a 3-4/4-3 / 12hr schedule Thursday to Saturday, Then Wednesday to Saturday Schedule on Night Shift (D-Shift) 6pm-6:30am. Responsibility for D-Shift operations with 70-75 operators in our Fabrication Department.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of activities in production area(s) to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives.
  • Prioritize production schedules based on product introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials supply.
  • Plan and administer procedures and budgets.
  • Make budgetary recommendations on capital expenditures and direct/indirect labor.
  • Select and develop personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the production function.
  • Develop schedules and manpower requirements for assigned areas.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Ability to Work Night Shift 6pm - 6:30am on a 3-4/4-3/ 12hr schedule Thursday to Saturday, Then Wednesday to Saturday Schedule.
  • Bachelor’s Degree and a Minimum of 1 year of Manufacturing Work ExperienceOR an Associate’s Degree and a Minimum of 2 years of Manufacturing Work Experience 
  • OR a High School Diploma and a Minimum of 5 years of Manufacturing Work Experience.

Nice to Have 

  • Ability to work Night Shift / D-Shift.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.
  • BS degree in Technical Sciences.
  • The incumbent should be technically competent and able to provide clear direction to Operators and Technicians; 70-75 on night shift.
  • Previous Medtronic and/or Medical Device experience is helpful.
  • Shift scheduling and Kronos experience is helpful.
  • Experience with interviewing, hiring and training Operators and Technicians.
  • Manufacturing Management experience within a controlled and regulated industry.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with a wide variety of people.
  • Good writing and documentation skills.
  • Good organizational and verbal communication skills.
  • Personal computer skills in a variety of software programs such as Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, inventory management system, and manufacturing execution systems that support the manufacturing environment.
