Commercial Market Consultant - Structural Heart
This role is primarily responsible for developing and implementing a successful commercial operations strategy in one of the fastest-growing segments of medical devices. The role works closely with the Sr Director of Commercial Ops and Sales Strategy to develop US-based strategic growth plans with adequate and realistic market models that inform other key strategic business activities such as organizational structure sizing, territory alignment, product launch support, and commercial infrastructure.
This role will provide a key link between various functional areas in Structural Heart and global functions. The Market Commercial Operations Consultant will work with leaders and stakeholders and relevant teams to deliver superior value to the customer while achieving revenue, inventory, and direct distribution-related expense goals.
A Day in the Life
Responsibilities may include the following, and other duties may be assigned:
• Play a vital role as a member of the SH commercial organization developing, driving strategy development, and strong execution.
• Bring actionable market intel to the field to improve market share position. Collaborate with sales and marketing leadership regarding customer segmentation, account targeting, performance measurements, and modeling best-selling practices for national standardization.
• Contributor to integrated business planning, highlighting critical drivers in the US market and communicating mitigating actions needed by Commercial leaders or cascaded to the field.
• Liaison with the product marketing team to build launch and market development strategies that maximize growth opportunity and lower market cost.
• Advise finance on market trends to help influence the impact of the annual operating plan, forecasts, strategic plan, commercial operating plan, and quarterly business reviews.
• Provides administrative support to the sales function, such as preparing sales presentations, organizing project plans, choosing the best channels of communication, and coordinating sales meetings.
Must-Have: Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- 7 + years of sales, commercial, and/or marketing experience in a regulated medical industry
- Demonstrated success leading change in a dynamic environment.
- Must be able to multi-task and adapt to the ever-changing requirements of a dynamic company.
- Ability to develop strong relationships in a matrix organization.
- Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and data analytics skills with high-level corporate presentation experience.
- Broad management and leadership knowledge to lead multiple job areas and detailed functional and operational expertise.
- Travel 10-20%
Nice to Have:
- Master’s degree
- Previous Medtronic experience strongly preferred.
- Understanding of contracting, marketing, supply chain and distribution processes.
- Demonstrated ability to recognize and resolve critical complex and systemic problems.
