Must Have; Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Health Economics, health sciences, business administration, health policy, hospital administration, public administration, health services research, or a related field
  • Minimum seven (7) years of healthcare work experience in health economics, reimbursement, market access for a medical technology/device company, health care consulting firm, insurance company, or healthcare delivery system including, physician’s office and hospitals.
  • OR  Minimum 5 (5) years of healthcare work experience in health economics, reimbursement, market access for a medical technology/device company, health care consulting firm, insurance company, or healthcare delivery system including, physician’s office and hospitals and an advanced degree.

Nice To Have 

  • Advanced degree (e.g., Masters) preferred.
  • Experience with medical device lines (diagnostics/therapeutics/monitoring) in a business / industry setting
  •  Demonstrated (foundational to intermediate level) knowledge and understanding of health technology assessment and economic modeling (e.g., cost effectiveness analysis) principles.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of U.S. healthcare reimbursement mechanisms and regulations related to reimbursement for medical technology products. 
  • Experience designing economic studies using Big Data / retrospective databases (e.g. CMS, HCUP, Premier) and/or outcomes / health services research methods
  • Experience of helping design clinical studies to generate economic data.
  • Experience working with clinical and/or payer stakeholders to achieve business goals (e.g., publications, coding submissions, etc.)
  • Proven work experience in providing coding, coverage, and payment advice in a healthcare setting. 
  • Proven experience of designing economic and/or clinical value proposition for a product.
  • Able to make recommendations and implement process improvement opportunities. 
  • Able to work independently, cross functionally and as part of a team to problem solve and seek advice when necessary performing work with limited oversight and supervision. 
  • Able to manage multiple tasks with high degree of organization-prioritization skill and attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills, particularly Excel (e.g., for basic economic models), PowerPoint (effective story telling / persuasion), and other software (e.g., TreeAge for advanced modelling).
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and change in business direction
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Project management experience
  • Experience of managing vendors and consultants to achieve business goals
  • Experience with health technology assessment agencies (e.g., ECRI, ICER, NICE), governmental bodies (e.g., CMS, state-level Medicaid programs), and/or international organizations (e.g., WHO)
  • Foundational knowledge of- and/or experience with quality measures (e.g., CMS, NQF, leapfrog) and life cycle.
  • Foundation experience and/or knowledge of US coding mechanisms, life cycle, and submissions for coding requests (e.g., AMA, CMS)
  • Foundational knowledge of- and/or experience with - OUS healthcare systems (e.g., EU5, Australia, Canada, China)
