Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant/leadership experience


Nice to Have
•Certified Surgical Technologist, Registered Nurse, or Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Animal Science or Veterinary Technology
•Experience in surgical (human or animal) procedures that support Medtronic therapies, and working with human tissue.
•Knowledge of research animal/human anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, anesthesia and general care.
•Experience in non-clinical (preclinical) device testing, hospital environment, or primary nursing care program.
•3+ years leadership experience in a pre-clinical, medical, or operations environment.
•Current or ability to obtain (within 24 months) AAALAS certification at LAT or LATG level
•Experience in a regulated environment (e.g. FDA, ISO 9000, GLP, USDA)
•Ability to interact with all employees in a professional, cooperative and constructive manner.
•Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with a wide variety of people (written and verbal).
•Demonstrated team leadership abilities.
•Possess good judgment, decision making, and problem-solving skills.
•Professional, goal oriented, self-motivated, and responsible.
•Ability to attract, develop and retain top/diverse talent.
•Strong planning and organizational skills with an attention to accuracy and detail.
•Ability to implement changes to department processes and procedures, foster team development, and build strong partnerships across all functions.
•Ability to exercise discretion, tact, courtesy, and patience in dealing with team members.
•Proficient computer skills in a variety of software programs such as Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Documentum, DMS, and execution systems that support the research operations environment.
•Lean and Six Sigma experience such as a Green Belt certification or higher.


PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
•No known allergies to multiple types of animal species.
•May require use of personal protective equipment
•Stand/Sit/Walk – up to 8 hours per day
•Laboratory environment
•Normal office environment
•Continuous verbal and written communication.
•Occasional exposure to chemical and physical agents.
•Ability to use a keyboard and mouse, visually interact with personal computers.
•Physically able to lift/carry and push/pull 50 pounds.


GLP REQUIREMENTS:
Each employee must conform to the SOPs and documentation that applies to their work area. This includes proper documentation techniques, updating the SOPs, training on the SOPs and knowledge of the GLP regulations that apply to their area.
Follow the documentation requirements provided by the SOPs and the policies of their department. This includes proper formatting of the protocols, reports, and SOPs that are generated and revised in the department. Adhere to the SOPs and facility policies that are relevant to the activities.
