Sr. Software Network Engineer

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science/Engineering
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience

Specialized Knowledge Required

• Hands on experience working with highly available and secure distributed systems
• Strong understanding of AWS and Azure network topology and services
• Strong experience with network operating systems and routing protocols (Cisco and Juniper)
• Checkpoint Firewall design and configuration experience
• Strong understanding of cloud security, particularly around cloud services and web applications/APIs.
• Network troubleshooting experience with Packet capture systems and tools
• Experience in integrating monitoring/alerting systems
• Some IoT experience around cellular communication
• Experience implementing and troubleshooting VPN's, firewalls, and wireless technologies
• Well versed with the advanced engineering and administration of routers, multi-layer switches, network security devices and network management systems
• Ability to work with engineering and architecture teams to drive operational risk out of future designs and implementations
• Strong experience with Red Hat Linux, F5 Load Balancing including ASM (Application Security Module) and Juniper SA devices
• AWS EC2 Instance and NGINX knowledge
• Strong verbal and written communication skills

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with AWS based micro service application architectures (Container and Serverless based stacks)
• Scripting and coding experience (python, powershell, perl, bash, etc)
• Passion for cloud technology and trends and keeping up to date is highly preferred
• Experience working in a DevOps environment
• General experience using API and CICD driven mechanisms for provisioning and controlling network environments
• Experience in web based technologies, ex. HTML5, Javascript, CSS, Cordova, Xamarin, Angular
• Experience in Open Source development platform/tools, ex. Eclipse
• Experience in Microsoft Visual Studio development platforms/tools, Microsoft TFS
• Experience working within a regulated environment.
