Sr Program Manager-Supplier Decarbonization

Join our Global Supply Management team as the Sr. Program Manager where you will lead Supplier Decarbonization efforts as part of the Responsible Supply Management program. Reporting to the Director of Responsible Supply Management, you will lead the work to reduce the environmental impact of Medtronic's supply base. To advance program priorities, you will regularly collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders, and third-party service providers.

Location may be flexible for remote candidates, the preferred primary location is Minneapolis, MN, or Boston, MA.
A Day in the Life
As the Sr. Program Manager, you will utilize your expertise to drive Medtronic’s decarbonization goals and objectives. You will:
- Develop and implement strategies aimed at reducing Scope 3 emissions associated with purchased goods and services as well as capital goods.
- Assume full responsibility for establishing a program framework and crafting a multi-year roadmap.
- Collaborate closely with Global Supply Management teams to institute sustainable sourcing policies and guidelines.
- Play an active role in developing targets and goals aligned with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)
- Effectively communicate and present both internally and externally to advocate for environmental responsibility and embed sustainable practices into business processes.
- Educate suppliers and internal teams on the significance of Scope 3 emission reduction and guide best practices.
- Lead Medtronic’s Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) Supply Chain program.
- Oversee CO2 calculations, track suppliers’ year-over-year CO2 reductions, and interpret data for trend analysis and follow-up actions.
- Ensure compliance with relevant environmental regulations and standards concerning purchased goods and services, while preparing and submitting accurate and timely reports, and staying abreast of emerging regulations and industry trends.
- Serve as the primary interface for key contacts to share progress and escalate issues as necessary.
- Provide support for internal and external reporting as needed.

- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Engineering or Business required plus a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
- Expertise in Scope 3 decarbonization work in manufacturing companies.
- Ability to calculate CO2 emissions using various methodologies, and set and achieve environmental targets.
Nice to Have
- 4-6 years of professional experience leading Scope 3 decarbonization programs
- Experience managing emerging programs from the ground up.
- Background in life sciences, biotech, pharma, manufacturing industry, and/or sustainability consulting preferred.
- Demonstrated passion for and knowledge of responsible procurement and environmental programs.
- Well-developed analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to navigate and work with stakeholders within complex enterprises.
- Demonstrated communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience managing programs with medium complexity and a high volume of data.
- Technologically savvy; ability to quickly learn new systems/databases.
- Experience supporting or managing programs, policies, and/or procedures in a corporate environment.
- In-depth knowledge and experience tracking and reporting activities within large, complex multifaceted programs and associated project plans.

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location.
