Senior Principal Electrical Engineer - Surgical Robotics

Requirements:

Must Have:

• Bachelor’s degree, or Master’s degree

Nice to Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Robotics or related field required, Master’s degree preferred

• 20+ years of experience as an engineer

• Digital and analog hardware design: Prior experience with custom digital (microprocessor / DSP / FPGA), analog (op-amp, current sensing, filtering), and power electronics circuit design, as well as off-the shelf equipment.

• Familiarity with design/development of capital medical devices

• Significant history with IEC60601-1 including electrical safety and EMC testing

• Prior history of product development from concept through launch and transfer-to-manufacturing

• Strong experience with motors and motor control, especially using BLDC motors

• Experience with sensors such as Encoders, Hall Effect Sensors, Torque, and Load Cells

• Experience with Ethernet, USB, serial communication busses

• Familiarity with QNX and Linux operating systems

• Seasoned user of electronic design tools, e.g., OrCAD and Allegro.

• Troubleshooting and debugging skills: root cause investigations / driving corrective action

• Design for cost / manufacturability
