Principal Scientist – R&T Advanced Development
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors degree required
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
Nice to Have
- Expertise in 2D and 3D image processing, computational geometry, signal processing, non-linear optimization, or position measurement/metrology algorithms.
- Experience in the medical device industry, specifically as related to Surgical Robotics technologies and Image-Guided surgery.
- Understanding of the general principles of medical image processing and deep learning pipelines.
- Expertise with algorithm design and understanding, as related to the registration, visualization, and processing of medical image modalities.
- Knowledge and development experience of deep learning frameworks (Caffe, Tensorflow, etc.) and hardware deployment platforms (GPUs, embedded chips like Jetson).
- Passionate about learning and willing to work with a highly cross functional team
- Ability to provide creativity while solving complex problems without known solutions.
- Ability to quickly prototype new concepts and ideas, and make conclusions and recommendations on the results.
- Ability to assess new technologies via comprehensive reviews of the state-of-the-art.
- Experience building medium to large size C++ applications/libraries.
- Software development experience in the medical industry or other regulated industry.
- Familiarity and experience working with Linux, and scripting languages.
- Project management skills, including planning, estimation, and requirements management.
- Advanced technical degree.
