Our Purpose
At our Research & Development Department in Medtronic, plc, Galway Ireland we focus on the development of cutting-edge medical devices in the Coronary, Structural Heart, PVH and Neuromodulation space. Our Engineers are directly involved in the development of innovative products for use in medical procedures. As a Senior R&D Engineer within the Structural Heart operating unit you will be tasked with supporting a team in the technical development of new products through early-stage investigation/research and/or translation of that into commercial medical devices.
The Structural Heart and Aortic Integrated operating unit offers minimally invasive approaches to restore proper structure and function of the heart and the aorta. We are focused on the transcatheter replacement or repair of the four heart valves – aortic, pulmonic, mitral, tricuspid – and the placement of stent grafts to treat aneurysms and dissections of the body’s largest artery, the aorta.
