Principal Human-Centered Industrial Designer - Surgical Robotics
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required and minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
Nice to have:
- Strong sketching and visual communication (Illustrator, PowerPoint) for design ideation and persuasive/explanatory use (e.g., helping systems engineers understand or illustrate an architectural concept)
- Parametric CAD experience including surfacing, in at least SolidWorks or Inventor
- Render management workflow experience (e.g. Keyshot) and marketing-quality output
- Cogent, concise written communication
- 2+ years’ experience with regulated product development process (e.g. IEC62366; requirements; development stages)
- Experience independently managing and prioritizing design approach to multiple projects (e.g. consultancy) or complex systems (e.g. medical systems).
- Travel up to 20% of the time primarily between Boston and North Haven facilities via car or train as well as domestically and internationally at times.
- CREO/ProE expertise including surfacing
- Experience with timelines and budgeting
- Workflow agility and clear communication to meet fluid project priorities and requirements and tight timelines
