Principal Electrical Engineer (m/w/d) – Integration – Surgical Robotics - Wessling

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

•    Bachelor’s degree required
•    Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 5 years of experience
•    Demonstrated skills in managing priorities and coordinating team activities
•    Experience working with multiple teams on concurrent, interdependent projects
•    Experience with highly regulated and/or safety-critical systems is required (medical device experience strongly preferred)
•    Ability to measure voltage, current, and signal integrity with common electrical debugging tools such as a multimeter and oscilloscope.
•    Ability to read and understand electrical circuit schematics and wiring diagrams
•    Ability to read and understand mechanical and electrical assembly drawings
•    Ability to write detailed reports and work instructions

Nice to Have

•    2+ years of work experience in product development
•    Prior experience in system-level development of a complex electro-mechanical system
•    Working experience in full-lifecycle engineering programs and processes
•    Excellent communication skills 
•    Knowledge of relevant technologies including:
o    Mechatronics / Robotics
o    Mechanical and electrical interfaces
o    Communication protocols
o    Sensors, actuators, controllers
o    Kinematics of mechanisms
o    Vision and display systems
•    Good understanding of structured product development (requirements-driven engineering, documentation, rigorous verification, etc.) Engineering verification test development and execution
•    Strong experience with motors and motor control, especially using BLDC motors
•    Experience with sensors such as Encoders, Hall Effect Sensors, Torque, and Load Cells
•    Experience with Ethernet
•    Familiarity with QNX and Linux operating systems
•    Experience with QNX and knowledge of C and C++.
•    Medical device development experience 
•    Knowledge of medical product R&D and clinical/regulatory process
•    Fluency in English required

Working Conditions

•    Standard office setting, clean room, surgical lab, operating room, pilot lab, external research organizations, supplier visits
•    Travel and flexible hours as needed
•    Based in Wessling, Bavaria, Germany
