Prin Engineer Robotics Modeling and Simulation

A Day in The Life
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

Drive adoption of model-based design for developing innovative robotic surgical solutions

Develop computational models of robotic assemblies
-
Assess model credibility, drive model improvement and validation
-
Analyze performance, reliability and safety of the robotic assisted surgery system

Build simulation frameworks integrating multiple models
-
Enhance and maintain a suite of simulation and data analysis tools

Collaborate with internal customers determine customer needs and define model use cases

Present findings and capabilities to cross-functional teams and stakeholders

Contribute to design decisions, requirements breakdown, testing and manufacturing str
Must Have: Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree with 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 5 years of relevant experience.

Nice to Have
-
Experience with robotics or electro-mechanical systems

Proficient in multibody dynamics and kinematics
-
Experience in parameter estimation and hardware characterization
-
Expert in Matlab/Simulink, Python and/or other software for simulation and data analysis

Knowledge in control theory and closed loop systems
-
Proficient in finite element methods for structural and thermal analysis of complex assemblies

Expert in Ansys, LS-Dyna and/or other FEA Software

Experience with design of experiment and test fixtures

Knowledge in server/cloud based simulation frameworks and processing of data

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to collaborate in projects with multi-site teams and across engineering disciplines

Experience in medical device Industry or other regulated Industry
