This position in the Surgical Operating Unit will be based out of North Haven, CT and reports to the Sr. Director of Sustaining Engineering.
You will be the link between technical sourcing, released product engineering (RPE) and operations, reviewing the bills of materials for circuit board assemblies to find and resolve component end of life issues before they cause interruptions. Outstanding technical skills in problem solving, data analysis and electrical engineering required as well as superior written and verbal communication abilities. This person will be able to dive in deep technically, but also able to see the broader needs of the business.
A successful candidate will enter this role with demonstrated application of technical and operations/manufacturing experience in a regulated environment such as medical devices, aerospace or military hardware.
A Day in the Life
· Review BOM monthly for component lifecycle
· Maintain product continuity, looking 6-24 months ahead
· Track end-of-life buys vs product forecast
· Identify alternatives for released product engineering review
· Use of software to identify component issues: Silicon Expert, IHS BOM Intelligence, Z2Data
The preferred location for this position is North Haven, CT.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
- Bachelors degree required
- Requires a University Degree and minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
Nice to Have
· Proven Operations and Manufacturing experience
· Experience with highly regulated and/or safety-critical systems is required (medical device experience strongly preferred)
· Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
· Strong leadership skills
· Comfortable working in a fast paced, cross disciplinary environment
· Ability to discuss technical details with engineering staff, the ideal candidate will have a strong engineering and product development background.
· Ability to drive action and effect change

The provided base salary range is used nationally (except in certain CA locations). The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.
