As Director of Performance Marketing, you will join a passionate and evolving Data, Insights and Performance Marketing practice dedicated to delivering impactful brand-building programs at a global leader in healthcare technology. You will be central to developing an approach to advance corporate brand and direct-to-consumer campaigns, leading the planning and execution of media. The right candidate will partner with activation teams, lead media mix planning, and serve as relationship owner of incumbent ad agencies. You will have an established point of view and network of partners and help lead the evolution of performance marketing at Medtronic.

A Day in the Life

The successful leader will help build a small but mighty team that will manage paid marketing strategy, including planning and executing campaigns (with agency partners) across online channels:

  • This leader will be equal parts leader and doer, to help prioritize key channels and identify opportunities to balance efficient performance with targeted lower funnel tactics (e.g., Paid Social, SEM, Display, etc.) and higher funnel brand building.
  • Continuously optimize media mix (funnel mix, channels, platforms) and audience targets to drive audience acquisition, as well as brand awareness and reputation.
  • Elevate relevant agency partnerships through continuous strategy improvement and tactic optimization.
  • Continuously identify and evaluate key digital marketplace and trends to inform marketing strategies in partnership with a Paid Media strategist.
  • Stay current with the latest trends, tools, and best practices in performance marketing to continuously improve campaign performance and team skillset.
  • Work closely with Insights and Performance Analytics partners to identify/refine audience targets, analyze campaign performance, develop insights and assign key performance indicators across an evolving decision journey:
  • Measure and share results on business-critical KPIs related to impact (Reach/Frequency, CPL, Brand Lift) and own achievement KPIs.
  • Contribute to methodology establishing performance forecasts and projections, adjusting accordingly based on analytics of marketing KPIs.
  • Design and implement optimization tests across our end-to-end customer funnel.
  • Bring a strategic understanding of ROAS through short and long-term measurement including last click and media mix models.
Must-Have: Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in media planning and buying with 7+ years of managerial experience including people leadership, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of media planning and buying experience with 7+ years of managerial experience.
Nice to Have
  • Five years of senior leadership experience within a marketing organization, agency or consulting practice.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively present ideas, results and concepts to senior executives and internal teams.
  • Experience onboarding new partners, vendors and establishing new ways of working.
  • Proven brand campaign and lead generation experience with clear & established accountability metrics to assess effectiveness.
  • Deep understanding of cross-channel performance marketing including search, social programmatic and display.
  • Healthcare industry experience a plus but not required.
  • Patience and the ability to educate will be heavily relied upon asset.
  • High competency level in MS Office with specific strengths in Excel and PowerPoinnt.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing related discipline, Business Administration, Analytics or related field.

Provided base salary ranges are used nationally (except in certain CA locations). The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.
