MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

 

Education required/ preferred:

Bachelor of Science degree with major in Accounting (or related business major) from an accredited college or university; post-graduate degree a plus

 

Experience:

Minimum 5+ years’ accounting/finance experience preferably within a manufacturing environment utilizing standard cost.                                                                                  

 

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

Supervisory experience is preferred
CPA or CMA a plus

 

Skills/Competencies:

Thorough understanding of ERP and accounting systems utilizing a standard cost system.
Thorough working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Advanced proficiency with computer spreadsheet and database software in Windows environment - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access.
Excellent oral and written communications skills, analytic skills, and math skills; ability to explain financial information to a non-financial audience.

Ensures high standards of integrity and data accuracy.

Strong experience with plant manufacturing operations.

Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Adaptable and responsive to multiple changing business priorities up to and including transition to other facilities within and/or outside of Minimally Invasive Therapies Group.

Ability to interact with personnel at all levels in the organization and provide strategic solutions.

Ability to hire, train and develop effective teams.

Assume day to day financial processes and duties as Assistant Plant Controller with the objective to promote to Plant Controller at another site within 2-3 years.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/SCOPE:

This position reports directly to the Controller and will have responsibility for the supervision and development of accounting personnel. This position frequently interacts with the following positions: (at Augusta and Camden) Systems Analyst III, Focus Factory Managers, Production Supervisors, Warehouse Supervisor, Planners, Purchasing Manager, Plant Engineering, and Industrial Engineers; (at Corporate) the Inventory Accountant.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

The work environment is an office setting.  Occasionally, and expected of this position, the duties require going on the manufacturing floor.   The noise level in the manufacturing environment is relatively loud.  Hair nets, beard covers and ear protection required while in manufacturing.   Rings and exposed jewelry except for a close fitting watch are to be removed.
