About Aortic 
Aortic is part of the new Integrated Operating Unit Structural Heart & Aortic. It is clear the focus that our new Global and Regional Structure gives to Aortic, with a dedicated and focused commercial organization and supporting functions, allowing Aortic to be better positioned to get the support needed from the Regional & Overlays structures to improve our customers’ and employees’ experience.

MAIN JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
•    Directly contributes to the attainment of financial and operational goals (including revenue, SG&A, Operating profit, FCF, inventory, sales forecasting, days sales outstanding and business growth) within the Operating unit and region in support of the company's overall financial and strategic objectives.
•    Full P&L management including resource allocation, monitoring the variation and providing accurate forecasts to ensure successful execution of AOP targets.
•    Lead Transformation and Go To Market activities
•    Ensures sales strategies are aligned to OU strategies and that support to the field is in place.
•    Oversees new product/market introductions, sales training programs, key physicians/key account visit and attendance at key industry congresses and meetings.
•    Provides strategy and direction for ongoing business development, implementation of marketing plans, development of sales and market development objectives and tools, and growth of the business for the region.
•    Manage key relationships with all stakeholders, both internally and externally.
•    Provide strategy and direction for ongoing business development and growth of the business for the region and maintain long-range sales and marketing plans.
•    Drive operational efficiency with the business in close collaboration with Customer care, Supply, Finance, Pricing.
•    Ensure effective and efficient territory coverage is realized. Regularly segment the sales territories to identify potential areas for growth, in conjunction with regional BU leaders.
•    Monitor sales revenue targets and growth on a monthly basis, promptly discussing your analysis findings with sales team and agreeing on actions to maintain growth, turnaround negative growth or seek new opportunities.
•    Provide regular sales coaching in the field and by phone (e.g. pre-/post-call planning/review; feedback re: written sales reports; etc.), ensuring professional selling skills are utilized effectively, and be an advocate for Sales Force Effectiveness and promoter of Aortic commercial training initiatives. Determine sales staff learning and development requirements, coordinating the implementation of such training accordingly.
•    Performance manage each member of your team, providing clear goals and direction as well as career development advice and support together with the regional Business leaders.
•    Develop individuals in the team to continuously improve and to take on additional responsibility
•    Share the best practices with and across WE, ensuring successes are leveraged and failures are minimized.
•    Monitor competitive activity in the field and develop strategies and tactics to deal effectively.
•    Participate in relevant industry meetings and conferences.
•    Ensure a thorough understanding of and adherence to any corporate or government compliance issue.
•    Work within and actively promote Medtronic’s core mission, corporate strategies, policies, procedures and Code of Conduct.
•    Designs and maximizes opportunities for talent development by making superior decisions as to how to deploy and develop them. Accelerates the development of others, differentiating opportunities and purposefully creating progressive experiences.
•    Builds effective teams through hiring and development of direct reports, using performance management techniques including mentoring, rewards and recognition when appropriate, and discipline when necessary.
•    Provides opportunity for success of all Aortic employees by ensuring they receive necessary and appropriate training for their job function and to have change ready.
•    Provides opportunities for personal growth and advancement of reports.
•    Promotes a trusting and progressive culture within the team and develops a broad set of collaborative relationships across the organization, connects well and empathically with other areas. Leverages matrix relationships to align others.
 

JOB QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
•    Bachelor’s degree required
•    7+ years professional commercial experience in Healthcare / Medical Devices / Pharma ideally in a mature European market, ideally in a large corporate environment 
•    5+ years of leadership experience
•    Experienced in managing fast paced growth environment as well a mature / commoditized business segment
•    Fluency in English and Spanish (Portuguese is a plus).

Travel Required: 
•    Willingness to travel 30-40 % mainly within Iberia (but occasionally outside). 

Location:
•    Spain or Portugal close to an airport

•    Strong motivation skills, engaging and convincing personality, able to motivate direct and dotted line teams to achieve business objectives. 
•    Assertive in setting high expectations for the organization, persistent in efforts to achieve goals and remove barriers. Strong ability to get plans executed from direct reports and non-direct reports.
•    Strong drive for results, ensuring can hold both themselves and the team members accountable for delivering on commitments
•    Possesses sense of urgency in decision making process, yet still maintains well though-out, data-driven decision-making process.
•    Strong financial knowledge – full understanding of all P&L elements and their inter-relationship. Ability to manage within the budget and to quantify financial impact of decisions and identifies key factors when making recommendations.
•    Ability to convey messages effectively in a variety of settings and across levels.
•    Leads by example, shows integrity and highest ethical standards in every action.
