Principal Manufacturing Engineer
- Bachelors degree required
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
- Experience in:
-Regulatory requirements of medical devices.
-Large scale costs savings activities.
-High precision machining operations.
-Insert and injection molding operations.
-Component qualification at vendors’ facilities.
- Good knowledge and understanding of supply chain management.
- Strong knowledge of business financials and their relationship to engineering.
- Strong project management skills including but not limited to project scheduling (MS Project), Charter development, Scope Management, Cost Controls, and other defined and used project management methodologies established within the group.
- Management of obsolete component issues.
- Supplier quality issue resolution.
- Managing Design for Manufacturability/Assembly issues (DFM/DFA) and overall product design reviews through the supply chain and sustaining/R &D engineering groups.
- Managing and developing engineering changes in a medical manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of and experience in Lean and Six-Sigma methodologies.
- Self-starter with go get it attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong writing skills (Validation documentation, Supplier Qualification requirements, Manufacturing Instruction creation, etc.).
- Sensitivity to cultural diversity and demonstrated success in interacting with a diverse workforce.
