Senior Electrical Engineer - Advanced Surgical Robotics
- Bachelors degree required
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience
Nice to Have
Robotics or medical device experience strongly preferred
Mixed signal circuit design (analog and digital)
Development of designs with embedded microcontrollers (PIC, ARM etc)
Schematic capture and PCB layout using OrCAD and PADS
Programming in C for embedded systems
Experience with MATLAB or other scripting language a plus
Experience implementing serial communication protocols (I2C, RS-422 etc.)
Strong foundation in electrical engineering theory
Strong analytical skills
Working knowledge of control theory and experience with motion control strongly preferred
Experience specifying/controlling various motor types and data acquisition from various sensors strongly preferred
Hands-on familiarity with EE lab equipment (oscilloscope, function generator, multimeter etc.)
Hands-on ability to debug and test
Ability to solder fine-pitch components
Familiarity with electrical safety compliance and testing, including IEC 60601
Experience in all phases of the product development lifecycle including feasibility, design, V&V and transfer to production
Experience documenting medical device development according to Quality System Regulations a strong plus
Effective communication skills and ability to work cooperatively within a multidisciplinary team
