- Bachelors degree required
- Minimum of 5 years of Engineering experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 3 years Engineering experience
- Ability to integrate creative skills with innovative problem solving techniques to develop design concepts.
- Knowledge of the application various human factors/usability engineering principles and tools in the design, development, and evaluation of hardware and software products brought to market.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Factors, Usability Engineering, Cognitive/Experimental Psychology, Kinesiology, Industrial Design or Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering with extensive human factors coursework
- Strong oral and written technical communication skills. Strong ability to work with and lead multidisciplinary teams that may include other HF experts.
- Ability to quickly understand and become proficient in domain knowledge.
- High tolerance for change, ability to multi-task continuously, and be willing to travel.
- Ability to work independently with limited guidance and develop comprehensive plans and solutions to complex issues.
- Strong negotiation, conflict management, and influence management skills.
- Have a working knowledge of diabetes.
- Previous work experience or internships in the medical domain.
- Knowledge of product development processes based on IEC 62366.
- Experience integrating human factors engineering into a systems engineering process.
- Experience with diverse technology platforms, including mobile applications.
