Medtronic is offering an exciting maternity cover position for an experienced Territory Manager to be an integral member of our highly successful Cranial & Spinal Technologies team, based in Sydney. This role offers responsibility across Neurosurgery capital and disposables within the region. You will represent a comprehensive and market leading portfolio with innovative solutions including AI, patient specific implants and an ecosystem of technologies which all integrate to drive efficiencies in Spinal & Neurosurgery.


Medtronic’s Cranial and Spinal Technologies (CST) division is the market leader in spinal implants, robotics, and navigation. We are redefining cranial and spinal procedures to reduce variability and improve outcomes with the goal of restoring long-term quality of life for more patients. We are the first company to offer an integrated solution that includes artificial intelligence-driven surgical planning, personalized spinal implants, and robotic-assisted surgical delivery to make patient care more customized.


A Day in the Life


Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, this unique and exciting role based in Sydney, New South Wales, will see you use your high degree of commercial acumen and the ability to drive your own success, grow market share and achieve sales revenues across both capital & disposables portfolios.


Primary responsibilities are:

  • Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve or exceed sales targets while maintaining a professional image for Medtronic in the marketplace
  • Provide regular, meaningful, and concise reports to the Regional Sales Manager
  • Support theatre cases and provide training and education effectively to all clinical end users and hospital staff on our products – products updates, trial and in-services
  • Gather market intelligence by observation, discussion or research
  • Identify, establish and maintain productive working relationships with key customers
  • Ensure the highest level of product and technical knowledge is attained and maintained
  • Recognize and understand competitive products, features, strengths in relation to the company’s products
  • Actively seek to develop and expand on territory management and selling skills
  • Work individually and as part of the wider team to establish and foster strong relationships with key opinion leaders  

Must Have:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Proven sales experience selling into hospitals with a success track record in the medical devices
  • Operating room experience
  • Solid clinical knowledge with the ability to build strong working relationships with key surgeons and other medical staff
  • A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel and work out of office hours as required
