We are currently seeking a Technician II to work onsite at our plant in Tempe, AZ supporting the Battery Process Engineering team.
A Day in the Life
In this position, you will support shift sustaining process engineering in a 24X7 manufacturing operation that uses grinding/polishing/cleaning for metal finishing.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Sustain, characterize, and qualify metal finishing processes/equipment. (Must have demonstratable skills and knowledge of: grind/polish/cleaning equipment/processes.)
- Troubleshoot and resolve metal finishing equipment/process issues
- Perform replacement, dress and conditioning of grind/polish wheels
- Perform fixture preventive and corrective maintenance
- Perform equipment qualification (installation/qualification), test method validation, and documentation updates
- Meet operational attainment of Safety, Quality, and Service goals.
- Perform duties in compliance with environmental, health and safety related site rules, policies, or governmental regulations.
- Identify and work to remove barriers that slow or prevent the successful completion of projects.
Must Have – Minimum Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years related technical experience
Nice to Have
- Associate of Science Degree in a related discipline
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, or similar technical discipline
- Direct manufacturing experience with grind/polish/cleaning equipment or similar work experience
- Direct experience qualifying and sustaining grind/polish/cleaning process technologies, with relevant experience with process characterization, design of experiments, equipment qualification, statistical process control, and data analysis methodologies
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Demonstrated experience working in a highly cross-linked technical work environment

The provided base salary range is used nationally (except in certain CA locations). The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.
