Medtronic Global Manufacturing Engineering - Test Systems in Nellcor, Tijuana is currently seeking a Sr Test Engineer to implement test solutions for test systems improvement in Medtronic high volume manufacturing sites and distribution centers.
A Day in the Life
In this role, you will apply your technical expertise to determine and develop approaches to solve complex technical problems with ingenuity and creativity. You will lead projects to develop test system improvements & redesigns. You will connect with various stakeholders and engineering teams in several locations. Work is performed under limited direction. This role will require limited travel depending on project phases.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
· Leading and owning test system redesign and improvement projects
- Responsibility for leading/developing plans, schedules and equipment required for testing Medtronic product during manufacturing
- Design, develop, and implement testing methods and equipment
- Plan and arrange the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing standard and special Medtronic devices
- Support new test system and test application development as a subject matter expert in your area
- Compile data and define changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, manufacturing processes, or new testing requirements
- Responsibility for testing, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing site complex issues
- Project management skills and influencing skills to lead projects
- Medical device / electronic manufacturing support experience
Must Haves - Minimum Requirements
· Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline. Electronic Engineer
· Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience
Nice to Have
· Strong knowledge of electronics manufacturing, especially with respect to test equipment, including both hardware and software development
· Test equipment qualification and validation experience
· Labview and Test stand development experience
· Experience identifying and solving complex electronic and equipment issues
· Previous knowledge of medical device quality systems and regulatory requirements.
· Experience working in a highly regulated environment including knowledge of FDA regulations, QSR, ISO standards and related regulations
