Sr. R&D Engineer
Must Have
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
4+years of related experience in the medical device or micro-electro mechanical design with demonstrated ability to move ideas from concept to development OR 2+ years of experience with Master's degree.
Nice to Have
Specialized Knowledge or Skills
Product or subject matter leadership experience
Expertise in the development, testing and manufacture of coronary catheter systems
Experience with product concept development, customer interaction, systems engineering and validation of customer needs/design requirements.
Demonstrated ability to assess the feasibility of emerging technologies through research, prototyping, and pre-clinical trials
Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) or Design, Reliability & Manufacturability (DRM) certification
Working knowledge of CAD (Solidworks) with application of common GD&T principles.
Basic understanding of working with polymers and metals in common MedTech technologies including but not limited to extrusion, molding, machined parts, alloy wire & welding.
Demonstrated ability to engage effectively in risk analysis and make resulting recommendations
Demonstrated strength in judgment, decision making, and critical thinking
Demonstrated strength in written and verbal communication
Demonstrated ability to utilize strong persuasion & influence skills to achieve results
Demonstrated strength in building strong relationships at all levels of the organization, cross-functionally, and with key people external to the organization
Demonstrated ability to work independently
Project Management certification
Physical Requirements:
The employee is expected to be able to operate independently in a laboratory environment
The employee is expected to be able to work for long periods of time doing computer-based work
