We are currently seeking a Sr. Supply Chain Planner (Operations Planner) for our MECC Campus in Brooklyn Center MN.  This role is within the Operations Scheduling group.  This role will interact with many different functional areas including, Master Production Scheduling, Supply Network Planning, Engineering, Operations, Quality, Master Data, & External Customers.  This position is primarily on-site but also has flexibility to be remote on an as needed basis.  Medtronic is intensely focused on creating a workplace environment which reflects our standing as the world’s top medical device company. A Day in the Life

In this exciting role you will support business execution of ongoing and new programs and initiatives that include production scheduling and material scheduling in support of internal customers.  Activities will focus on maintaining master production schedules, adherence to financial targets, new product launches, and supply health. You will monitor key performance indicators and coordinate with cross-functional work teams to meet business objectives.  Key stakeholders will include Operations, Sourcing, and Operations Scheduling team members. 

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Accountable for shift level production planning, prioritization, and KPI reporting.
  • Responsible for consumption and inventory management.
  • Responsible for communication of supply health and operational plans.
  • Represent organization as a prime contact for the value stream.
  • Work in an SAP environment managing master data for MRP.
  • Troubleshoot master production scheduling issues.
  • Ability to present information and communicate effectively.
  • Work is performed under general direction, and you will participate in determining objectives of assignment.
  • Participate in tiered meetings to provide updates on material availability, and production priority changes.
  • Provide updates on key KPI’s

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

·       Bachelor’s degree

·       Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with MRP/ERP systems (strong preference or QAD and SAP)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, etc.) or similar software.
  • Strong data analysis, data management, and quantitative skills
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written), team orientation, and ability to negotiate towards positive outcomes.
  • Strong organizational skills and good understanding of team dynamics.
  • Must be detail-oriented, with ability to connect the detail to higher level goals.
  • Ability to identify patterns.
  • Working knowledge of quality system requirements and good manufacturing practices.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment (i.e., medical device, pharmaceutical)
  • APICS and/or CPM Certification Cost accounting understanding/experience
  • Understanding of contracts (supply, services, non-disclosures, etc.)
  • Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt (or comparable training)
