Medtronic Patient Care Systems is an exciting function within Medtronic Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) that focuses on the design, development, enhancement and support of the platforms, systems, software, and device monitors and tablets that enable our implantable (cardiac pacing therapies and defibrillation solutions) and diagnostic (cardiac diagnostic systems) businesses. We create and support tools and technology with a commitment to improve the patient and customer outcome and experience while enabling our global commercial teams.

The Sr. Product Manager will report into Sr. Director of Device Manager platform and have responsibilities in identifying the customer need and the larger business objectives that their products will fulfill, articulating what success looks like for a product, and rallying a team to turn that vision into reality. This role will manage the Legacy Device Manager portfolio and Linq Mobile Manager (LMM) used in cardiac device implant and follow up. This role will oversee the strategy and plan to sunset legacy products while partnering across platform with product managers developing next generation SmartSync device manager. LMM is the application on the tablet device manager critical to supporting the Cardiac Diagnostic and Monitoring Systems. This role will oversee lifecycle management and partner with Cardiac Diagnostic and Monitoring Systems business partners.

A successful product manager will have a strong business mindset, able to work across teams and functions, effectively communicate across different layers of the organization, know how to set priorities for the development teams to drive execution, influence without authority, and be successful in defining a direction for the organization.

A Day in the Life

Product management is fundamentally different from project and program management. Whereas program management is the identifying and coordinating of interdependencies between projects and other initiatives, product management is strategically driving the development, market launch, and continual support and improvement of its products.

·       Develop, align, and implement a product vision, strategy and roadmap across CRM’s businesses and global regions.

·       Align with your platform leader and senior leadership on product priorities.

·       Effectively and efficiently deliver results by working with implantable businesses as well as regions across the globe.

·       Drive global demand forecasting while partnering with operations to maximize supply and implement future allocation strategy.

  • Leverage data and analytics, develop models, to identify and track the performance of the product and make informed decisions about investments required to maintain the portfolio of products.

·       Own and understand near and long-term implications for your product and Medtronic CRM, and develop product strategies and tactics to sunset the portfolio of legacy products.

·       Work with software agile scrum teams to roadmap, prioritize, and be the voice of customers in software development.

·       Achieve budget and spending goals.

Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 4+ years’ experience in a marketing, technical, clinical, sales, sales support role (2 years with Advanced Degree)
  • Project and/or program management experience

Nice to Have:

  • MBA or other Master’s, Engineering degree helpful
  • Experience in medical device, healthcare or IT industry
  • Experience in understanding and creating improved and new clinical workflows to enable the delivery of improved patient care
  • Previous experience driving voice of stakeholder activities, product definition, program scope
  • Human-centered design experience (design thinking, journey mapping, service & solution innovation)
  • Behavioral science knowledge and or experience
  • Previous experience in business and financial modeling

·       Demonstrated experience as a product or platform manager.

·       Medtronic and CRM experience is a plus
