Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree and minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience

Nice to Have

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant manufacturing test engineering or product development experience, or advanced degree with 5 years of relevant experience 

  • Experience reading software logs and interfacing with software tools

  • Works well in a team

  • Develops work products that reflect highly professional standards

  • Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Fluency in English required

  • Prior experience in system-level development of a complex electro-mechanical system

  • Prior experience with medical capital equipment, including troubleshooting and software installation

  • Experience with Linux, shell scripting, software installation, etc.

  • Experience with electro-mechanical devices controlled by software.

  • Experience with MATLAB and Simulink

  • Working experience in full-lifecycle engineering programs and processes

  • Demonstrated skills in managing priorities and coordinating team activities

  • Experience working with multiple teams on concurrent, interdependent projects

  • Familiar with manufacturing test software tools such as LabView, Test Stand and Python.

    • Experience creating test automation with test measurement equipment

  • DFLSS or LSS certification

  • Working knowledge of SQC and gauge repeatability and reproducibility

  • Process oriented and committed to continuous improvements

  • Knowledge of relevant technologies including:

    • Mechatronics / Robotics

    • Mechanical and electrical interfaces

    • Communication protocols

    • Sensors, actuators, controllers

    • Kinematics of mechanisms

    • Vision and display systems

    • Good understanding of structured product development (requirements-driven engineering, documentation, rigorous verification, etc.) Engineering verification test development and execution

    • Understanding and experience with system reliability testing and service.

    • Experience with QNX and knowledge of C and C++.

    • Medical device development experience

    • Knowledge of medical product R&D and clinical/regulatory process

Working Conditions

Standard manufacturing setting, pilot lab, external research organizations, supplier visits

Travel and flexible hours as needed

Based in Chicago, IL USA
