Senior Platform Engineer
- Bachelors degree required
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience
Specialized Skills Required:
- Experience operating a large, distributed, production software stack, ideally 24x7x365
- Experience with Linux systems administration
- Fundamental understanding of Microsoft Windows Server Platforms or desire and ability to learn
- Proven experience delivering software using C, C++, Python, Perl, Golang, or Ruby
- Experience in a public or private cloud environment
- Strong understanding of computer networking and security fundamentals and tools and techniques typically encountered in troubleshooting distributed systems
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, concepts, and methods
- Experience with observability tools, like ELK, AppD, Prometheus
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation
- Ability to work with a globally distributed team
Nice to Have:
- Experience with operating production services running in AWS
- Experience with Terraform and AWS CloudFormation
- Experience with Kubernetes, plusses if you have experience with K8S in production and EKS
- Experience writing Kubernetes Operators
- Experience with Service Meshes (e.g., Istio)
- Experience with Hortonworks Data Platform or similar stack
- Experience operating an Internet/public facing production service
- Experience troubleshooting complex distributed systems
- Experience with Azure DevOps (SCM, Ticketing, Pipelines)
