Medtronic’s Memphis Manufacturing facility is looking for a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer. This new position will support the Medtronic Mission for unsurpassed quality and reliability in our medical devices by being a key technical contributor for a new manufacturing line focused on metal machining, bending, and metal finishing processes. This opportunity will allow a qualified person to put their personal influence on the design and execution of a brand new manufacturing line which will produce medical devices focused on improving our patients quality of life.  
Day in the life: 
•    Designs manufacturing processes, procedures and production layouts for assemblies, equipment installation, processing, machining and material handling
•    Designs arrangement of machines within plant facilities to ensure most efficient and productive layout.
•    Designs sequence of operations and specifies procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance.
•    Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions.
•    May incorporate inspection and test requirements into the production plan.
•    Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality.
•    Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.
•    Provides guidance to engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques.
•    Managing technical projects such as equipment sourcing and qualification plans to completion 
•    Execution of validation plans in compliance with Medtronic’s standards
•    Provide on time project updates, development plans, peer/self-assessments, and successful completion of all training requirements.
•    Typically provides guidance, coaching and training to other employees within job area.
•    Performs duties in compliance with environmental, health and safety related site rules, policies, or governmental regulations.

Must Have: Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree  
- 4+ years of experience with Bachelors Degree  OR 2+ years of experience with an Advanced Degree

Nice to Have 
•    Lean and/ or Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or Master Black Belt certification
•    Experience in project management or a PMP certification
•    Experience in medical device manufacturing
•    Experience working with external suppliers
•    Experience in manufacturing line start up
•    Experience with Medtronic’s manufacturing validation standards
•    Proficient with Solidworks
