As a Senior IT Technologist, you will be responsible for software design & development in support of patient-facing devices and software systems for Diabetes Applications. The Diabetes Cloud Technologies team develops mobile and web APIs to engage patients. 
We are looking for a skilled individual who will perform their work alongside other engineers and developers, collaborating on the various layers of a cloud infrastructure for a multiple diabetes application and microservice based solution. This role will be a part of an Agile development team. This is a technical position reporting to the Diabetes Cloud Technologies Manager.

• This position will have the unique opportunity to work with stakeholders around the globe to help enhance our patient experience with new mobile or website development. 
• This role will be required to do hands on development as well be able to partner with external vendors and create and lead new solutions depending on patient and business requirements. 
• This position will work with our business stakeholders and extended vendor partners to develop applications.
• Adopt a consultative approach by taking initiative to identify and complete tasks and action items. Find and understand opportunities and use your persuasive people and technology skills to convince business and IT leaders that you have the solution that they are looking for.  
• Think Big: Deliver solutions that are scalable and maintainable…act as if you will be with the company for ten years and would be expected to be the owner of the product you helped to deliver. Think long-range impacts! 
• Think Detailed: Take big, broad programs and effectively decompose into deliverable pieces that developers and business can understand and execute.  
• Think Ahead: Conducts technical proof of concepts for first in class, complex situations.
• Communicate Broadly: Create and proffer both verbal and written briefings to key stakeholders to explain complex problems and situations in their language. Then turn around and communicate to the developers in their lingo for execution. 
• Create Relationships: You will have to create strong relationships with business executives, to build a level of trust and understanding. 
• Advocate for Developers: Remember where you came from. Find opportunities to improve how “work is done” by using automation and simplification as much as possible. Mentor prospective technical leaders to go beyond what they do today.


MUST HAVE (Minimum Qualifications)
• Bachelor’s degree
• 4+ years of experience with a bachelor’s degree or 2+ years of experience with an advanced degree

NICE TO HAVE (Preferred Qualifications)
• Ability to lead end to end development/deployment of frontend/API/mobile applications
• Strong knowledge of Java, ReactJS, NodeJS and HTML/CSS website development
• Understanding of architectural patterns such as MVVM and OOP design principles
• Proven working experience with external partners and client stakeholder
• Experience working with React Native is a plus
• Experience working with iOS Swift or Android Kotlin is a plus
• Ability to use critical thinking and sound judgement
• Proven experience in DevOps for AWS, using tools like Git, Gitlab, Jenkins, and/or Copado
• Basic knowledge of Python and/or Node.JS scripting
• Basic understanding of CDN services (Akamai or CloudFront)
• Previous Medtronic experience
• Preference given to current Medtronic employees
• Priority consideration will be given to local applicants
• Experience with MuleSoft
• Familiar with Agile Scrum project delivery methodology 
• Proven experience in Software Development Life Cycle, working with an onshore/offshore model 
• Understanding of Tag Managers (Tealium Preferred)
• Prior experience with Healthcare applications
• Understanding of HIPAA, CCPA, GDPR, HDH
