Senior IT Data Engineer - Data & Analytics
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Build and maintain optimal data pipeline architectures pulling data from multiple data sources/systems, landing it on our Snowflake-based data platform and transforming it for analytics consumption.
- Assemble large and complex data sets using data-transformation technologies that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
- Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements: automating manual data processes, optimizing data delivery, and re-designing the data platform for greater scalability.
- Build data pipelines required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from multiple sources using a variety of data platforms and data technologies within the company, including but not limited to: Snowflake, Informatica Cloud, DBT, Coalesce, SAP BW, SAP BO, SalesForce.com and S3 buckets.
- Work with a team of Data Analysts, Data Scientists and Data Architects to execute data analytics projects across multiple regions and businesses.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Systems Engineering or related field.
- 2 years of proven work experience as a Data Engineer (cloud preferred).
- Fluent in English level.
- Experience building and optimizing data platforms and pipelines using cloud-based data platforms.
- Proven experience building data transformation and data curation processes, including data-quality validation.
- Advanced knowledge and experience working with SQL-based relational databases, advanced query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.
- Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Strong analysis skills related to working with structured and unstructured datasets.
- A successful history of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large disconnected datasets.
- Good team player with strong organizational skills.
- Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
- Experience with AWS cloud services: EC2, EMR, RDS, Redshift
- Experience with stream-processing systems: Storm, Spark-Streaming, etc.
- Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages for building data transformation and data quality testing: Python, Java, C++, Scala, etc.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python preferred)
- You like to experiment with new technologies and share your knowledge with others in inspiring presentations.
- You are proactive and keep a constant communication with the team members and the business partners.
- You have experience with CI/CD tooling: Azure DevOps, Git
- You have Experience with Test Automation.
- Snowflake work experience is a plus.
- Experience with big data tools like Hadoop, Spark, Kafka is a big plus.
- Experience in Healthcare or Medical Devices industries is a big plus.
- Experience using Informatica Cloud and/or Informatica Power Center for building data pipelines is also a plus.
