As a Principal Test Engineer - Test Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the testing of medical devices and software. You will be responsible for setting a test strategy and plan for a team of test engineers that aligns with the regulatory standards and requirements for medical devices. We are looking for an approachable personality who can reach across disciplines to deliver value.
A Day in the Life
• Develop and implement a test strategy and plan that aligns with relevant medical device regulatory standards.
• Lead and manage a team of test engineers, providing them with guidance, feedback and training.
• Design, execute and review test cases, test scripts and test data for various types of testing, such as functional, performance, usability, security, and reliability testing.
• Work closely with Product Owner and Developers to define acceptance criteria and definition of done for both stories and releases.
• Report and track defects, collaborating with developers and other stakeholders to resolve them.
• Design and implement automated tests and frameworks for regression testing and continuous integration.
• Prepare and maintain test reports, metrics, and documentation for presentation to management and other stakeholders.
• Keep up to date with medical device testing standards, tools, frameworks, and best practices.
Must Haves
• BS/MS in Computer, Electrical, Electronics Engineering or equivalent
• At least 10 years of experience in software testing in the medical device industry (or other safety-critical industries)
• Extensive knowledge and experience with medical device regulations, standards and guidelines
• Experience leading a team of test engineers in a medical device development environment
• Proficiency in various testing tools and frameworks such as Selenium, TestNG, Cucumber, TestArchitect, etc.
• Excellent leadership, communication, problem solving and analytical skills
• A certification in software testing, such as International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB)
• Willingness to be on-site (minimum 3 days/week in London office)
Nice to Haves
• Experience working with deployed hardware systems and remote device management
• Experience with virtualization
• Knowledge of video encoding/codecs and related tooling
• Experience with Amazon Web Service (AWS)
