We are currently looking for a Principal Electrical Engineer with Manufacturing Test experience for
Medical Devices to join our Neuromodulation & Pelvic Health Engineering Team in Medtronic Engineering
and Innovation Center, Hyderabad, India. Our vision is to become the undisputed world leader in

As a Principal Electrical Engineer, you will work with a global team of Manufacturing and Test Engineers to
bring new products to the market. The focus of this role will be to coordinate and help implement
Manufacturing Test Development for non-implantable and implantable Medical Devices such as Patient
Programmers, Rechargers, and Neurostimulator devices for Deep Brain Stimulation, Spinal Cord Stimulation,
and Sacral Nerve Modulation. Manufacturing Test Development includes collaborating with external contract
manufacturing partners, strategizing, initiating, and deploying Manufacturing Test Methodologies. For all
internal development teams, this Individual will serve as a single point of contact on all Manufacturing Test
considerations and will be recognized as the Manufacturing Test Champion. Experience designing, testing,
and troubleshooting analog power electronics is a plus for this role.
- Provide Technical Leadership on Manufacturing Test Development for Patient Care Devices at Contract Manufacturing facilities.
- Ownership of Manufacturing Test strategy and Test Requirement Specifications for Implantables and Patient Care Devices
- Interface with certified test houses to verify/certify to global regulatory standards including IEC 60601, ISO 14708-3, FCC, ETSI, etc.
- Provide Electrical Engineering skills to analyze, characterize, and debug new product designs including analog and digital circuitry.
- Work closely with design teams (Electrical, Firmware, Mechanical) to root cause design issues, create test suites, characterize and ultimately verify electrical designs.
- Design and execute test methods (manual and automated) to characterize electrical performance and verify adherence to Product Requirements.
- Analysis of product performance using DFSS techniques
- Act as a liaison with external suppliers to ensure continuity of product supply by resolving supply and quality issues.
- Collaborate with a cross functional team to resolve and document issues with fielded products.
- Ensure understanding of all quality policy/system items that are personally applicable. Follow all work/quality procedures to ensure quality system compliance and high-quality work.
- Work under minimal supervision and ability to work with others internationally and travel globally.

- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline – Electrical / Electronics / Manufacturing
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 13 years relevant experience
- Medical Device experience
- Experience working with international teams and Contract Manufacturers Globally
- Experience with verification and validation of class II and class III medical devices
- Experience with Design for Six Sigma
- Experience with analog power electronics design and troubleshooting
- Experience developing automated test benches utilizing python scripts and/or LabVIEW
- Experience validating test scripts, methods and systems including IQ/OQ
- Experience with Altium or OrCAD schematic capture and PCB layout tools
- Experience with circuit simulation tools such as PSPICE, LTSPICE
