Principal Electrical Engineer
- Bachelors degree in Engineering required (Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering with an Electrical Concentration, or Equivalent degree)
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
- Understanding and experience in design, development, and testing of electromechanical medical devices
- Experience with product concept development, customer interaction, electromechanical design, systems engineering and validation of customer needs/design requirements
- Demonstrated ability to assess the feasibility of emerging technologies through research and prototyping
- Working knowledge of systems engineering principles, requirements management and medical device regulation
- Demonstrated strength in building strong relationships at all levels of the organization, cross-functionally, and with key people external to the organization
- Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) or Design, Reliability & Manufacturability (DRM) certification
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, simulate and resolve issues in embedded system designs
- Proficient in programming languages such as Python, C, Verilog, Matlab, and Labview
- Proficient in embedded communications protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART
- Demonstrated experience using simulation and modeling tools such as LTSPICE, Ansys – Designer, Ansys SI Wave
- Demonstrated experience using design software such as Mentor Graphics PADS Suite, Cadence, Altium
- Demonstrated experience in the following areas: IEC 60601 Electrical Safety and Electromagnetic Compatibility, RoHS compliance, REACH compliance, Electronic prototyping (i.e. rapid PCB design and testing), Agile Development, Atlassian Toolkit (Jira)
- Experience with statistical analysis tools such as Minitab, Design Expert, JMP
- Experience with medical device design controls (e.g. ISO 13485) and risk analysis (e.g. ISO 14971)
- Broad knowledge of project management.
- Demonstrated strength in written and verbal communication, judgment, decision making, and critical thinking
- Demonstrated strength in building strong relationships at all levels of the organization, cross-functionally, and with key people external to the organization
