The Manufacturing Trainer is responsible for performing a wide variety of duties under limited supervision to support the manufacturing training program at the Bedford site. In this exciting role you will have responsibility for training assemblers to manufacture high-quality and complex catheters to support the Cardiac Ablation Solutions Business. In this role you will be part of a team that grows the operations capacity over 8X to support our customer needs in this newly acquired product portfolio.
Location: This position will be based in Billerica, MA. The Location is not transit accessible and candidates must have reliable means to commute.
Shift Time: Monday to Friday, 6:00 am – 2:30 pm OR 4:00 pm-12:30 am.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate training to a group of new hires, emphasizing critical manufacturing & quality concepts & positively representing Medtronic, in a new hire’s introduction to the company. Lead the group through the onboarding session, providing all new hires with a foundation for success.
- Use Medtronic’s mode of training to train on the following:
- Perform microscope and free hand soldering assembly with fine wire.
- Work from visual aids, method layouts, diagrams, schematics, process flow sheets and written or verbal assembly instructions.
- Set initial layouts and use a variety of tools to prepare product(s).
- Make continuity checks on work in process and completed.
- May conduct quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications.
- May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions.
- Collaborate with a range of stakeholders, process owners, and subject matter experts to define, maintain, and improve training programs ensuring the right training for the right audience.
- Maintain communication with trainers, trainees & leadership to ensure effectiveness of training.
- Minimum of 4 years experience of relevant experience.
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent required.
Nice to Have
· At least 1-2 years of experience providing training, coaching, or mentoring to adults in manual tasks.
· Undergraduate or graduate programs in Education or psychology.
· Free hand soldering experience.
· Manufacturing experience.
· Excellent communication skills
· Detail and process oriented
· Comfortable with clean rooms environment
· Experience within a medical device setting.
