MUST HAVE: MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • BS Engineering, Scientific or Technical discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years experience which includes at least 2 years of Medical Device experience. 
  • Management experience and new product development experience preferred.
  • Accomplished management of  project development efforts -–including post support marketing of existing & new products
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of financial planning and analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret a variety of technical information and deal with several abstract and concrete variables 
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead people and projects and to get results through others; must be familiar with phase gate design control processes 
  • Capable of training customers on the proper use and troubleshooting of existing products
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes and tooling maintenance  
  • Effective team builder with a track record developing direct reports
NICE TO HAVE:
  • MS, MBA helpful but not required
  • Background in Six Sigma and Test Methods ideal.
  • Multiple project planning and strategic development
  • Business Acumen
  • Hiring and Staffing
  • Interpersonal Savvy
  • Understanding of market in area of specialty
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Six Sigma evaluation skills, Minitab preferred
  • Strong competence in Microsoft Office applications

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/SCOPE:
  • Reports to Director or Sr Manager of Product Development.    
  • Manages 5 – 10 exempt level technical reports. Interacts cross functionally both internal and external to the company. Significant contact with internal and external customers.  Interact with division and business unit leaders, customers
  • Budget:  Manages expense and capital budgets in the range of < $1mm 

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Standard office setting, R&D lab, model shop, supplier, service facility, manufacturing facility visits, domestic and international travel as required.
