Our Purpose
As the leader of the cost accounting COE (Centre or Excellence) in Medtronic Galway, you will be responsible for managing a diverse organization across different locations and manufacturing sites. Your primary focus will be on all aspects of our cost accounting processes & systems and ensuring their effective implementation throughout the company. This involves overseeing financial processes, analyzing cost data, and driving operational efficiency.

As the leader of talent management and development for a globally dispersed Centre of Excellence group, you will have the opportunity to:
- Direct and oversee all aspects of cost accounting and cost accounting systems across Medtronic worldwide.
- Collaborate closely with other Global Operations and Supply Chain finance teams to establish a robust financial system that caters to the needs of all stakeholders.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the Centre of Excellence, actively identifying and supporting improvement projects and ensuring that the team embraces a mindset of continuous enhancement.
- Nurture a highly engaged and motivated team, encouraging their professional growth and fostering a positive work environment.
- Devise and implement a strategic roadmap to steer the Centre of Excellence towards its goals and objectives.
Key Skills & Experience
- 15 years of relevant finance experience, with at least 7 years in a senior leadership role.
- Honours Degree in Accounting or Finance at Level 8 is essential.
- Must be qualified with ACA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA.
- Possesses a strong compliance mindset and ensures adherence to company and local requirements.
- Able to analyse and effectively communicate complex issues to business partners.
- Exhibits a strong sense of ethics and integrity.
- Has a proven track record in business partnering with senior functional leadership.
- Demonstrates influencing skills, influencing business partners to consider the business impact of decisions.
- Results-oriented individual with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and handle multiple deliverables simultaneously.
- Possesses strong problem-solving skills.
- Shows proficiency in decision-making and analysis.
