A Day in the Life
•    Be a leader contributing to the device software functional area. This involves managing and building a highly engaged team of 6-12 engineers to ensure that they are positioned for growth and success.  
•    Lead a team of engineers that design and develop embedded software, field bus communications technologies, and device abstraction in a robotic context.
•    Represent your team to the wider software organization.
•    Partner with the greater R&D organization (PMO, Quality, Systems, Manufacturing, etc.).
•    Build sustainable processes for product development and drive best practices within your functional area.
•    Mentor and coach your team members, and remove barriers for the team.
•    Participate in design reviews.

Must Haves
•    Relevant Bachelor’s degree required and minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with 8 years of relevant experience
•    Leadership experience in engineering teams
•    Understanding of software development lifecycle and its best practices
•    Experience in a regulated industry (ideally medical devices)
•    Strong focus on team’s career development
•    Passionate about Agile practices
•    Business fluent in English

Nice to Haves
•    Deep understanding of distributed systems, microcontrollers, modern C++, CMake, Linux, real-time operating systems, and complex mechatronic devices
•    Familiarity with electronic designs, closed-loop control, and robotics
•    Collaboration with Architecture and Project Management teams
•    Development and commercialization of software products including understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and best practices in the medical device industry, including knowledge of medical device development regulations: 60601, 13485, 62304, MDR
•    Leading process improvement activities following Lean principles
•    Living Scrum/SAFe practices
•    Conversational German
