Location: Swedesboro, NJ
SUMMARY:  Support Operations staff in efficiently fulfilling customers’ needs by personnel and process management and consistent interaction within the Distribution network. Maintain effective relationships with Business unit supply chain and Customer service operations to insure effective fulfillment of customer orders. Support management of Medtronic’s relationship with 3PL provider (UPS) to ensure accurate and on-time shipment of Medtronic products. 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES may include the following.   Other duties may be assigned.
  • Support  relationship with 3PL provider to ensure accurate and on-time shipment of Medtronic products
  • Provides direction, leadership and coaching to distribution staff  regarding tasks, projects and operations
  • Ensures ongoing operations, processes and programs are completed on schedule and within budget
  • Interprets and executes policies and procedures that affect Medtronic staff
  • Manage shipping and order processing functions with responsibility for results in terms of managing costs, methods and employees
  • Maintains relationship with Customer operations and the Business unit planners to understand their requirements
  • Manages continuous improvement projects/ initiatives related to distribution activities
  • Tracks company projects, volume, etc., to ensure operation is positioned to meet future challenges
  • Budgetary Control:  Develop and adhere to spending projects, and Annual Operating Plan.  Ensure compliance to approved budgetary values.  Reduce cost of operational expenses when possible.
  • Responsible for providing an environment that ensures safe storage, handling and control of all inventories
  • Create a safe work environment that fosters continual improvements in the cost of operations and quality of service to our Customer
  • Empowers team to perform operational responsibilities.  Maintains focus on team morale and change management.  Develops and maintains appropriate client relationships at all levels to include internal departments and 3PL provider in order to maintain high service level standards with our internal and external customers
  • Recommends and implements, new technologies, quality standards, and procedures to impact vision
  • Invests time and resources in employee development
  • Works cross functionally with peers to develop consistent practices related to staff development, performance and cost management.  Knowledgeable about department and industry best practices.  Utilize quality and performance metrics to ensure regulatory compliance.

Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in related field and a minimum of 5  years experience in Operations or Distribution management
Preferred Education and Experience:
Handling, storage and packaging of medical products, Green Belt certification, APICS or other professional certification
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
High aptitude for problem solving and troubleshooting
Knowledge of OSHA rules and regulations particular to that state
Systems knowledge:  Microsoft applications, AS400 (i.e., JDE, SAP), SAP experience
Self motivated; can work with minimal supervision, in a remote facility
Ability to supervise and coach timely and affectively
