Education Required
BS or MS in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Biochemical/Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
Years of Experience -
BS with 2+ years or MS with 0+ years of relevant experience
Specialized Knowledge or Skills Required
• Industry or academic experience in one or more of the following: coating formulations, surface chemistry, conjugation strategies, polymer chemistry, various coating/surface deposition processes
Nice to Have
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in medical Device/pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry or academic thesis research
• Demonstrated experience in analytical techniques such as HPLC, UV-VIS spectroscopy, LC-MS etc
• Demonstrated experience in microplate based colorimetric or fluorescence assays such as ELISA, enzyme activity assays etc
• Formulation development experience (polymer based coating formulations, drug product formulation etc)
• Experience with various bioconjugation chemistries (click chemistry, biotinylation etc)
• Experienced in chemical modification of surfaces (plasma modification, cell adhesive/non-adhesive modifications, small molecule/biomolecule immobilization etc)
• Knowledgeable in material characterization & Surface analysis techniques such as XPS, XRD, FTIR, DSC, Raman, SEM, DLS, AFM Optical Microscopy, etc
• Experience with various chemical & physical coating application processes (spray, spin, dip, die- etc)
• Experience with statistical analysis tools/techniques including DOE and associated software (Minitab, JMP, Design Expert etc)
• Highly self-driven & detail-oriented with good organization skills
• Results-oriented driver and deliverer with a hands-on, can-do mentality
• Out-of-the-box thinking in finding solutions to unexpected challenges
