Principal Test Engineer
- B. S. in Materials Science, Engineering Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics or related
- 7+ years of relevant industry experience, or advanced degree with 5+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Mastery of a specialty area (test engineering) and full knowledge of industry practices
- Knowledge of basic material characterization techniques, including mechanical and analytical
- Knowledge of the product development process
- PC experience (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, etc.)
- Knowledge of nitinol processing and properties, including fatigue
- Experience in related disciplines such as structural analysis including FEA, fatigue analysis, metallurgy, and strength of materials
- Hands on experience with TA and/or Instron electromechanical fatigue testing systems
- Knowledge and experience with application of technical principles, theories, and design concepts in implantable product design including product, process, and technology development and evaluation
- Knowledge of risk management analysis including Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), advanced analytical and statistical techniques, and DOE
- Experience with Statistical Analysis Software such as Minitab, JMP
- Experience with CAD software such as Creo
- Experience with Analysis software such as MATLAB, LabView
- Experience with Tool/Fixture Design
- Experience with Mechanical/Dimensional Metrology
- Knowledge of Fixture Specifications (i.e. GD&T per ASME Y14)
- Knowledge of ASME, ASTM, ISO Testing Standards & Protocols
- Knowledge of FEM/FEA software and design optimization techniques
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)/Quality System Regulations (QSR)
- Knowledge of FDA, MDD, and CMDR regulations
