Principal Systems Engineer
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or similar related field
- Minimum of 7 years of industry experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience
Nice to Have
- Experience developing software applications
Experience working in the Medical Device or other regulated industry
Understanding of combined hardware, software system architecture, demonstrated by work in industry
Experience developing system definition, system design and requirements, requirement tracing to subsystems and interface requirements, and system verification and validation strategy and testing
- Demonstrated ability for independent work
Experience with systems engineering principles, including requirement analysis and allocation, architecture, verification, and validation
Demonstrated Systems domain knowledge and understands applications to assigned projects
Demonstrated successful implementation of a software application in a prior environment
Demonstrated Software domain knowledge, including experience in:
Interface protocols, API development and open source technologies (C#, Java, Swagger)
Wireless communications (WLAN, Bluetooth LE)
Certificate management lifecycle (encryption, including data/message encryption and decryption)
Good understanding of mobile application development
Good understanding of REST based web services
Good understanding of cloud-based technologies (PaaS/SaaS/Storage)
Continuous Integration environments, build pipelines
Broad knowledge of software test architecture and software tools for web and mobile software applications
Good understanding of software development practices for medical device software as well as non-medical software within a medical device system
Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement by studying and applying technical advances in area of expertise
- Excellent verbal and writing skills, including presenting
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others on cross-functional teams
- Good time management and organizational skills
Understanding of system architecture for products involving hardware, software, communication and mechanical components
- Experience with Cardiac Rhythm and Heart Failure products
Familiarity with Design for Six Sigma or related product development processes
