Must Have: Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field
- 4+ years of experience with Bachelors Degree OR 2+ years of experience with an Advanced Degree
Nice to Have
• BS / BA Mechanical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering.
• 4+ years of experience in mechanical design and development
• Expert knowledge of 3D modeling environments, best practices for modeling and use of FEA to reduce time and cost of fatigue testing
• Experience with mechanical linkage design, structural design, and complex assemblies.
• Experience and knowledge of mechanical engineering discipline and application of mechanical theories to practical concept design.
• Expert understanding and able to successfully move a project through design control, quality and regulatory system processes including product lifetime management.
• Experience in deriving, refining and prioritizing user and technical requirements at the project team level.
• Experience optimizing requirements for production, reliability and cost using DRM.
• Design skills include an understanding of drafting standards, GD&T in compliance with ASTM Y14.5, DFSS/DFMA, tolerance analysis and DFMEA methodologies.
• Computer proficient and skilled with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and typical file sharing platforms.
• Solid working knowledge of regulatory requirements for medical product development, including knowledge of federal and international regulations, such as FDA QSR, IEC 60601, ISO: 13485, 14971, 62304, and 13485, Medical Device Directive or other regulating agencies is required.
• Exposure to the operating room environment and sterility protocols.
• Experience with CREO and ANSYS for design and static analysis.
• Ability to function well under pressure and expend effort to meet schedules and deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, can work individually or in a team environment to complete objectives. Able to communicate effectively to peers, subordinates, and Senior Management.
