Principal Technician
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience and may require vocational or technical education and advanced certification in addition to prior work experience
- Progressive technical certifications
- Ability to work overtime as required
- In depth knowledge of machinery maintenance
- Start-up and Troubleshoot Extrusion / compounding process
- Good electrical problem-solving skills
- Good mechanical problem-solving skills
- Able to define PM procedures and review/maintain spare parts for the equipment
- Contact outside vendors for
purchasing of materials, components, fixturing, and outside services
Ability to read and redline engineering documentation (eg. execute IQs, EBRs, equipment documentation) - 5S and Lean Manufacturing Skills
- Excellent manual dexterity
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to use bench top test equipment and custom manufacturing test stations
- General metrology skills (eg., experience with machinist microscopes, calipers, ROI, and weight scales)
- Experience with GMP requirements
- Basic understanding of EHS requirements.
- Able to use Excel, Word and Outlook
- Ability to escalate equipment downtime
- Experience with all requirements of electrical LOTO, chemical handling and hazardous waste guidelines
- Knowledge of the English and Metric measuring systems with the ability to perform mathematical conversions to each
- Prioritize and balance workload of multiple project assignments based on business and functional objectives.
- Knowledge of Plastics Processing and Plastics machinery maintenance
- Braiding Manufacturing
- Machine shop experience
- SolidWorks modeling experience
- Minitab or statistical software
- PLC programming
- Experience in process and tooling development, test method development, data acquisition and analysis
