Must have: Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years in software development for embedded, real-time operating system (RTOS) applications, general software development.
  • Experience in leading a high-performance software development team the R&D environment.

Nice to Have
 
Management experience in leading and building platform and real-time operating system application software development team in the fast-paced R&D environment, deep understanding of the software development lifecycle and its best practice in medical device industry, experience, and strong focus on team’s career development.  Experience in Agile software development in medical device industry.
As an ideal candidate, you will have any or all of the following experience:
  • Management and/or leadership experience in platform software and real-time applications software development in medical device industry.
  • Experience in mentoring and coaching software engineers, helping them improve their skills and career development
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to build consensus and establish common goals
  • A minimum of a BS in a technical discipline, preferably software related: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering. Master or Ph.D. degree in related discipline preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience in C/C++ software development with embedded and real-time operating system application.
  • Experience of hardware interfaces from software perspective.
  • Solid understanding and appreciation of SDLC process and tools (JIRA, Git, JAMA, etc.)
  • Strong Agile Scrum experience with deep understanding of Product Owner is a plus
  • Experience in a regulated industry (medical device or avionics) is preferred.
  • Experience or basic understanding surgical robotic is a plus.
  • Experience managing global/offshore team is a plus.
 
Working Conditions: 
Work-from-Home and Standard Office setting in Boston, Massachusetts. Some limited travel may be required.
