 As part of Medtronic’s PDBMF Maintenance team located in North Haven, CT, the Equipment Maintenance Technician I will be a key member of the team supporting our PDBMF Manufacturing facility. Impact patient outcomes.  Come for a job, stay for a career. 


A Day in the Life

As the Equipment Maintenance Technician I, you will provide daily support of multiple product families with specific regard to machine support, product quality, product cost, process improvements, safety, and customer feedback of vacuum systems, rotary equipment, and extrusion processes; a mix of mechanical and electrical experience required.  You will work on the 3rd shift, 5 days a week Monday-Friday and includes shift differential rate. Weekend work will be volunteer based.  Responsibilities include troubleshoot and machine support, root cause analysis for machine outages or production performance issues and participate in cross functional teams to accomplish project specific goals. You will be mentored to become the resident expert on production equipment and processes. You will ensure efficient product processing while maintaining established quality/cost/safety standards.

 You will:

  • Performs installation, maintenance, and repairs on line manufacturing or plant equipment.
  • Locates and diagnoses failures, replaces defective components, and performs basic troubleshooting using standard electronic equipment, detailed drawings, diagrams, sketches, specifications, prints, manuals, and verbal and/or written instructions.
  • Maintains appropriate maintenance and repair logs.
  • Uses a variety of hand, power, and test tools and equipment.
  • May redesign optical, vacuum, electrical, electronic, or mechanical systems for incorporation on existing manufacturing equipment.
  • May estimate labor and equipment costs and prepare requisitions as required.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • 0 years of experience required.

Nice to Have

  • Ability to work weekends/overtime.
  • Technical training/certification
  • Computer literate
  • Experience with Motors, gearboxes, valves, vacuum systems
  • Tooling/Assembly Fixture troubleshooting
  • Strong Electromechanical Equipment troubleshooting
  • Electrical Experience
  • Able to lift up to 40lbs.
  • Flexibility to work on different shift if necessary.
