A Day in the Life

Performs a variety of supervised tasks in helping to maintain and repair manufacturing machinery, tooling and associated support equipment used to produce, inspect and sterilize products. This is the intermediate-level technician position in Manufacturing Maintenance. 

•    Inspects and repairs production and support equipment, using mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and vacuum technologies
•    Assists in troubleshooting equipment failures and repairs, and assists in equipment modifications according to written specifications
•    Assists other technicians as directed
•    Works from prints and sketches to assist in layout work, parts fabrication, and assembly
•    Carries out preventive and predictive maintenance per established schedules and task listings
•    Maintains hand and special tools and related equipment; uses hand and powered tools, precision test equipment and instruments as required
•    Observes standard and prescribed safety and good maintenance procedures, and applies good housekeeping practices in work areas at all times

•    Detail oriented, quick learner, able to retain complex technical information
•    Ability to follow departmental and safety procedures
•    Must have good mechanical aptitude
•    Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, in the English language
•    Ability to lift considerable weight on an occasional basis 

Ability to safely use general maintenance hand tools

Must Have: Minimum Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience and may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience
  • High school diploma

Nice to Have
Electrical / Electronic skills 
Electro-mechanical maintenance experience
Computer skills
